Ideal Franchisee
  The ideal Franchisee is someone looking to create a good consistent income, wants to follow a system, fairly fit (our first two Franchisees are women), enjoys driving, being out and about, meeting people and generally networking well within their local Franchise and business community. This business offers a service in great demand as everyone moving needs boxes, which are either hard to find or expensive, whether buying them or getting them through the Removalist. Franchisees are required to look for homes with “For Sale” signs in their Franchise area while doing their deliveries and pickups and to leave a sample box supplied by the Franchisor along with a brochure. The Franchisor demands the Franchisee gives full time commitment to the Franchise by not having any other employment.

Notes on Cost
  After the purchase price of $35K plus GST the Franchisee will need to purchase or Lease a van for the deliveries and pickups, ranging from $15,000 to $35,000 depending on the age of the vehicle that is selected by the Franchisee. From the available areas, the Franchisee is dedicated an exclusive area of his choice, and given a supply of boxes, porta robes, tape dispensers, tape, wrapping paper, bubblewrap, and Marker Pens which people use for packing. From then on the Franchisee doesn’t have to buy any boxes or ancillary products as they are continually topped up by the Franchisor as the need arises. These costs are met by the Service and Administration Fee, which is a percentage of the Hire Fee.

Earnings Information
  The Franchisor will disclose to the potential Franchisee a breakdown of every job done by the Franchisor since commencement of the box hire business, showing the average income generated per job, the number of boxes hired, the products sold and so the potential income that can be obtained by the Franchisee. The Franchisor guarantees a minimum income of $1,000 per week for the 1st 13 weeks while the Franchisee is establishing their area and then the Franchisor will also supply work from outside the Franchisee’s area, from areas not Franchised, to maintain a healthy income. On an average of 10 jobs per day, this will give an income on a five day week of approximately $2,500 plus GST, after payment of the Service and Administration Fee. On an average each job takes approximately 15 minutes, do the maths and be surprised. Full details will be given to prospective Franchisees.
How to Buy
  BCI is to take initial inquiry, and once an acceptable prospect is found, the prospect is refered to Barry Harris the franchisor for further information and interview.

Working Capital Required
  The Franchisor recommends that the Franchisee allows for a 6 month period while their area is being marketed. However, the Franchisor guarantees an income of $1,000 per week for the 1st 13 weeks while the Franchisee is establishing their area and then the Franchisor will also supply work from outside the Franchisee’s area from areas not Franchised, to maintain a healthy income.
Training and Support
  The Franchisee is given 1 weeks training in all aspects of the business and from then on daily support by the Franchisor, by what we call the “Hub.” All calls and sales are taken by the “Hub,” made up into order forms and sent to the Franchisee, leaving the Franchisee free to just service their clients by way of delivery and pickups and do the marketing in their area which is essential to maintain and give further growth. We welcome and encourage a prospective Franchisee to meet with the existing Franchisees as this is essential to see and feel the excitement and enthusiasm of our team, but only after it is assessed that the prospect is serious.

  An interested party will have full access to the existing franchisees, but only after it is assessed that the prospect is serious.
Business Established
  The Franchisor, Barry Harris owned a removalist company for 20 Years before embarking on this business venture in 2002. Barry saw there was an opportunity to give a very cost effective service by hiring boxes to people and businesses moving, by giving FREE delivery before their move and then picked up FREE after their move. A pilot operation was started to prove and develop the system for Franchising, giving time to make sure and fully test the concept that it was viable and the service was embraced by customers.
Company Outlets
  The Franchisor has been operating this business since 1997 as Cartons For Hire.
Franchised Outlets
  There are two franchisees. Territories taken are North Shore and Balmain/Rozelle.
Franchise Established
  The Company commenced franchising in 2007 appointing its first Franchisee in February 2007, the second in June 2007.
Franchise Territory
  Each Franchisee is given an exclusive area to market and do jobs and in which no other Franchisee or the Franchisor can do jobs. The Franchisor will also offer jobs from non-franchised areas to Franchisees to help maintain and boost income. Full details will be given upon application.

  No current arrangements.
Comments
  This is a Franchise with great growth potential as more and more people realize that they can hire boxes to pack at half the cost of buying boxes and the fact that re-using boxes is better than recycling and great for the environment. Customers can hire boxes even before selecting a removalist and as they can be kept up to 3 months, giving plenty of time to pack and unpack. They are also delivered and picked up FREE giving an excellent service. Boxes will always be needed for people and businesses to move so if you can see the enormous potential and are interested in this Franchise, the above should raise questions which we are only too happy to answer, for example:- If my customer moves to the other side of Sydney or out of my area do I have to pick up the boxes? Answer:- As the boxes belong to the Franchisor you don’t have to pickup those boxes as the Franchisee in that area is obliged to do so. In turn you are also obliged to pick up boxes in your area which are then used by you for deliveries. All aspects of the business have been well thought out with the interests of the Franchisee fore most in mind.
