Earnings Information
  The profitability of an Oporto Franchise store depends on many factors, including the ability of the franchise owner to effectively run the business, and the location of the store. Oporto Franchising does not provide franchisees with any sales or profit forecasts in relation to Oporto stores. Franchisees should prepare their own financial projections after seeking independent accounting advice.
How to Buy
  Once a prospect has made an inquiry with BCI, there will be an accelerated process where the prospect will be introduced to Oporto Franchise. There will be an interview with Oporto and an application form will need to be filled out. Before approval, the prospect will work in a training store so that both parties can make a better informed decision. Oporto is very keen to ensure that there franchisees are well suited to the business.
 
Royalties
  Royalties - Royalties paid to Oporto Franchising are 6% of gross sales. Advertising Contribution - The advertising contribution paid to the Oporto Advertising Fund is 4% of gross sales.
Working Capital Required
  Franchisees will need to seek their own independent accounting advice in relation to the amount of working capital that may be required.
Training and Support
  There is an intensive 10-13 week training program for franchisees which covers all aspects of running an Oporto Franchise store. The ongoing support is also attested to by current Oporto Franchisees.
Access to Franchisees
  At the appropriate time, prospects will be granted access to existing franchisees within the Oporto Franchise system.
Business Established
  Oporto opened its first store in Sydney in 1986 in North Bondi and our unique and fresh tastes soon won over a growing number of customers. In fact for many people a visit to Bondi Beach was not complete unless a Bondi burger was on the menu. Oporto now serves over 12million people a year.
Franchised Outlets
  At the time of this writing, there are currently 106 outlets in the Oporto Franchise System around Australia and New Zealand. Growth has been significant in the past 3-4 years.
Franchise Established
  The first franchise was granted in 1995.
Franchise Territory
  Franchises are not granted exclusive territories by Oporto Franchising.
Bank Accreditation
  Oporto has arrangements with ANZ, Westpac and GE. These lenders will lend up to 60% of the total set up cost and they will accept the business and personal guarantees of the directors as security.
